In less than a month, the 2016 edition of ANZ Sail Fiji will get underway. In today’s world, there is no avoiding the race, with heaps of ways to interact with what’s happening in the middle of ocean without being there.

During the 1,100 nautical mile race, organisers Royal Akarana Yacht Club will be keeping a variety of media streams updated with the latest news.

The traditional press releases will sent to various mainstream and sailing specific outlets with a hope that the stories get picked up. In addition to this, the race will be updated via the tracker to see where everyone is as well as Facebook and Twitter.

To follow the race on Facebook “like” the ANZ Sail Fiji page –

To keep up to date in 140 characters or less, then “follow” ANZ Sail Fiji on Twitter –

Twitter will also be bringing in the official hashtag feed #anzsailfiji. When telling the world about the race, make sure you use #anzsailfiji so we can “hear” what you all have to say!

“In todays world it’s important to keep all different media outlets up-to-date in their own unique way,” said Race Director Sally Garrett.

“Our team behind the scenes will ensure that everyone has the latest information literally hot off the press!” continued Garrett.

At the start of the race there will be an official media team capturing both photos and video as well as updates to provided to the social media outlets.

“If you can’t be somewhere to watch the race unfold, then just jump online! Links to all the ways to watch are available on our website,” said Garrett.
