The crew on the Oyster 655 “Meari” are pretty excited about their upcoming race to Fiji because it will be the first race that the boat has ever done!

Meari arrived in November via ship having cruised extensivly around the British Isles, the North Sea and the Mediterranean, but the new have loads of experience and are keen to get onto the start time for the 4th June race.

When asked why they chose ANZ Sail Fiji as their first race, crew member Lisa Robinson replied “we wanted to get to Fiji in a safe and controlled manner with like minded sailors, and the race was perfect to achieve that goal.”

The crew on board are Dan Robinson (skipper), Lisa Robinson, Duthie Lidgard, Richard Shields, Cathy Williams and Andrew Wenban.

“We just want to get to Fiji and have heaps of fun!” said Robinson.

Meari was the third boat to enter the 2016 edition of ANZ Sail Fiji. To date, 11 boats are making the journey to the tropical island.
