Well all round a great day for sailing and ablutions but less about the latter for now.

The weather has been perfect with good sailing winds in warm blue oceans only thing wrong really is we need the wind to move right some degrees to allow us to go faster and stay in contact on handicap with our friends on Beau Geste. They are steadily creeping away and its a race against time for the “corrected time” result because Beau Geste could quite easily finish before the forecasted winds drop off significantly and go into the north, then it drops and we take much longer to finish so very tense on board here regards to all that.

We are all well, fed and warm, with some good activity on the ablution front. ┬áNow I’m sure you dont really want to hear this but to us on a boat offshore for a few days it becomes a very important part of daily well being, especially when its been lumpy bumpy for quite a while. Today much steadier.

Nikolas has been out with his GoPro getting footage and doing some interviews with some of the guys so hopefuly the video will be good.

So we have a tense night ahead making sure we sneak every knot of speed out of Giacomo towards the finish which we hope will now be later in the afternoon on Wednseday.

We have been sorry to learn of Kia Kaha, Surreal, Crusader and Iemanja’s retirments but have learned that all involved are safe and well.

Thats about it for now
Best to all from the crew of Giacomo
